Louis L’Amour

Louis L’Amour was born in Jamestown, North Dakota. He became the most prolific pulp western author of all time, selling more than 200 million books by the time of his death. He traveled the world as a boxer, sailor, and cowboy just to name a few of his jobs, always seeking adventure. It was those adventures that were the basis for many of his books. His books have been made into a number of movies and television series. He was working on his autobiography when he died in 1988.
