Catherine Bryant Arnold

Catherine Bryant Arnold was the wife of Major Ripley A. Arnold, builder and commandant of Fort Worth in 1849. Mrs. Arnold followed the major to his frontier post along with four children, two of whom are buried in Fort Worth’s Pioneer Rest Cemetery having died at the fort in 1850. She is a pioneer woman contributing to the western way of life on the Northern Frontier of Texas. It is thought she brought the first piano to the fort.
