Billy Bob Barnett

Billy Bob Barnett, Billy Bob’s Founder, 1946 – Billy Bob Barnett is the founder of Billy Bob’s Texas. On April 1, 1981, Mr. Barnett took what was originally a cattle barn, an airplane manufacturing plant and a department store, and opened what is now internationally known as “The World’s Largest Honky-Tonk.”

Billy Bob’s has provided stellar entertainment since it opened and was influential in giving many well known country musicians their big break. Because of this and features such as live bull riding every Friday and Saturday night, Billy Bob’s has won 8 Academy of Country Music, Club of the Year awards.

The vision of Billy Bob Barnett and Billy Bob’s Texas have been instrumental in the revitalization of the Fort Worth Stockyards and therefore, the city of Fort Worth.
